AGI is proud to announce that on March 1st, we opened our newest location. Building 22 has been in the JFK market for nearly 25 years, first opened by United Cargo in 1997. Working with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, AGI took possession of the building in late fall and began preparing it for occupancy.
“Building 22’s launch customers are Cargolux Airlines and Turkish Cargo, the latter of whom begins operations March 15th,” shares Warren Jones, AGI’s Vice President for Business Development. The 82,000 square foot building boasts three levels of racking for imports after arrival. AGI also is providing export screening in the building through our canine partner, Global K9 Protection Group.
The building will also provide between 150 – 180 new jobs for people in the continuously growing air cargo industry and continues to reinforce JFK’s importance to the international air cargo marketplace.
We handled a variety of commodities including humanitarian relief bound for the nearly 2 million refugees who have fled Russia’s unprovoked war on Ukraine.
Building 22 is the third facility at JFK, joining Building 21 operated on behalf of Delta Cargo and Building 71.
Import and export pickups at Building 22 can be scheduled online through our partner CargoSprint, expediting pickups and deliveries and keeping driver waiting time to a minimum.
We filmed a video detailing our operations and one of the first Cargolux flights our team handled on a crisp and chilly early morning. Check it out.
